berthr handles the operational side of sailing — invitations, RSVPs, guest questions, and crew coordination — plus a captain's logbook you'll actually keep.

How berthr works
From the first invite to the final log entry — the operational side of sailing, handled.
Add guests, set a trip date, and berthr sends SMS invitations automatically. Guests reply YES or NO by text — no app, no account required. You see who's in on the dashboard in real time.
Add a provisions list to any trip — assign who's bringing beer, sandwiches, or snacks so nothing gets doubled up and nothing gets forgotten.
berthr sends the invite the moment you confirm a trip. Guests reply YES or NO — no link to click, no account to create, no app to install. RSVPs and reminder messages are handled automatically.
An AI assistant trained on your boat answers guest questions 24/7 — marina directions, what to bring, seasickness tips, overnight packing. Configure it once, it handles the rest.
Here's what to pack for an overnight on Solstice:
The boat has bedding for 4. Any other questions?
Every confirmed guest gets a link to the trip gallery in their welcome SMS. They upload from their phone, you keep the best ones. Organized by trip, no shared albums to manage.

Your captain's dashboard gives you a live view of upcoming trips, confirmed guests, and pending RSVPs — all at a glance. Manage trip details, guest profiles, and crew from one screen. Works at the dock or at anchor — add it to your home screen like a native app.
A proper captain's log — voyages with multi-leg support, engine hours tracked as a running meter, and boat events like maintenance, fuel, haul-outs, and winterization. Weather auto-filled from historical data.
Every sail you log builds your crew's own sailing record — days aboard, hours underway, nautical miles, night hours. They see it in their crew portal and can export it as a PDF for a sailing school or a charter company. You do nothing extra: it's built from the sails you're already logging. You get the same board from your side, ranked by hours, and berthr tells you when someone's crossed a milestone worth a word at the dock.
Say how many hands you need and berthr texts your crew at once — the first replies claim the slots, everyone after gets a polite "spots are filled". Open sails work the other way: confirm a date for a race or an evening out and let whoever's free self-select. If someone drops, the spot is offered round again automatically.
Sail tracking
Mount your iPhone, tap Record Sail, and berthr captures the whole sail — your GPS track, top and average speed, distance, time underway, wind and waves, and (if you calibrate) heel angle. When you tie up, it turns the sail into a card worth sharing.
iOS app · optional · free on every plan
"I stopped counting after 150 guest questions the chatbot handled on its own. Marina directions, what to bring, seasickness — all of it."

No. Guests interact entirely via SMS and a mobile web link — no account, no app store, nothing to install. Less friction for guests means more RSVPs for you.
SMS is included in Crew and Captain plans — just use it. Invites, reminders, and replies all flow through berthr. No Twilio account or third-party setup required.
A Claude-powered assistant you configure with your boat's details — marina, parking, what to bring, trip info. Guests ask it anything before or after a sail, by text or on the web.
A full captain's logbook — voyages, multi-leg passages, engine hours as a running meter, and boat events like maintenance, fuel, haul-outs, and winterization. Weather auto-filled for each sail date.
Yes. With the iOS app, tap Record Sail on a confirmed trip and berthr captures your GPS track, speed, distance, time, wind, and — if you calibrate — heel angle, then turns it into a shareable card. It's optional, free on every plan, and works on the trips you already run.
Yes, if your boat has a NMEA 2000 network. It's entirely optional and needs one external device — a Wi-Fi gateway wired into your backbone, bought separately — and then the iOS app logs real wind, boat speed and depth onto your track as you sail. The wind on your recap card is the wind you actually sailed in, rather than a forecast. Without a gateway, everything records from the phone exactly as before. Setup and the gateway we test with.
Yes — add a provisions list to any trip and assign items to specific guests. They get notified automatically. Leave items unassigned and guests can claim them themselves with a tap, or send one nudge listing what still needs someone. Works for racing crews who always sail together, day sails with friends, or overnights where someone needs to own the snacks.
Plans are annual. If berthr isn't for you, the free tier is always available and your data stays intact. No surprise auto-renewals.
Yes. Guest data is stored securely, never shared or sold. Any guest can opt out of SMS at any time — managed directly from your dashboard.
